It's happened to all of us

The computer breaks down. You call the manufacturer of the computer. Since the machine is out of warranty, you first have to give them your credit card number before they will speak to you. £30 later, you're told to pack up the computer and send it to them for repair. You pay postage & packing (both ways), plus the cost of the repair ( a highly inflated price for both parts and labour).

What next?

You look in the yellow pages under "Computer Repair." They will gladly fix your computer for you...as long as you bring it to their shop. Or, for an "additional fee," they will come to your home or office. Someone has to pay for those expensive advertisements!
